Zermatt is a busy, chaotic place.

My pedals were missing most of the spikes. My son would have also liked his shock adjusted to his weight. Other than that it was awesome. We had a blast biking. I wish I would have known that riffelberg was going to be closed that day. But that was my poor planning. Will highly recommend your shop to any who ask.

Zermatt is a special place in Switzerland, probably the most beautiful resort in the country.

Love Zermatt! We have been coming for over 30 years! The weather and snow conditions were perfect. Our hotel Jägerhof was excellent. This year we notice that prices have increased a lot for food and for taxis.

Great destination overall but not the best to my liking. The experience of skiing at 3900m was definitely something on my bucket list, however I really did not like super long ski lifts - most of them are also cable cars which means you have to take off and carry skis quite a lot. On the other hand the runs are really long and enjoyable. You can also see the breathtaking Matterhorn from virtually everywhere and ski above the clouds, overall the views are simply amazing. Food was stupendously expensive - you can ski to Italy and lunch there for half the price, with food being better too in terms of quality, which is what we did pretty much every day. In the mornings you also need to take a bus since most hotels don't have their own transport that takes you to the ski lifts. Overall I enjoyed Zermatt better than Grindelwald. Sella Ronda in the Dolomites or the 3 Valleys in France are on another level though and Zermatt can't really compete with them in terms of skiing experience. Definitely worth visiting but not sure I would come back again in the next few years.

Zermatt is an idyllic mountain town with very friendly people, beautiful views and lovely shops. We had a wonderful time here and are looking forward to returning soon.

Zermatt is great for Mountain biking. During our stay, recent rains had caused some damage to area trails so we were unable to ride the Gornergrat trails. Everything we did ride was amazing and local bikers were super helpful in providing up to date information.

Zermatt is magical, and also very expensive.

Fantastic, not a better place to ski in the world!

Love Zermatt and have visited many times since first trip in 1980. Sadly dear old Zermatt has been over marketed and lost the intimate village atmosphere it used to have. Mass tourism has caused Zermatt to feel that it is bursting at the seams, over crowded with the post-Covid experience being one of a pushy, more rude environment. This is sad but the marketing people have caused much of the problems Zermatt suffers now through over popularity. That said, the investment in lift capacity has been outstanding. I still love Zermatt as one of my favourite destinations ever, full of lifelong memories but it's time to stop and take stock, ease up on development for a few years and let things settle - before mass tourism ruins the integrity of a quality Swiss experience.

Great skiing as nice and high. Well served by services, restaurants and shops. Plenty of snow while we visited. Easy to get to with the train from Geneva. An easy place to travel to.

Sadly Zermatt has declined as a skiing destination. I loved coming here but it is now flooded with ski tourists in large numbers, too many loud Americans and rude pushy people many of whom lack basic courtesy and manners especially in queuing for the e-bus and lifts. Also - the resort has not scaled up to handle the big increase in numbers. Pistes aren't prepared early enough and lifts (Hothalli, Rothorn Seilbahns) ran only a couple of times in two weeks. This compresses huge numbers of impatient skiers into small piste areas causing congestion and risk of collision/injury. I do not believe lifts must stay closed ALL DAY after a new snowfall if avalanche danger is managed correctly. I loved coming to Zermatt but will think carefully about returning which is sad. "Growth" has killed the goose that layed the golden egg. Monday 11 March after fantastic new snow was a congested disgrace with only part of the skiing area available all day. This new "normal" is not the way Zermatt used to be. Zermatt has been killed as a destination by excessive growth and is not the magical place it used to be.

I would tell everyone and no one about this place. It is so wonderful I think nearly everyone would enjoy it but I don’t want to tell anyone so I can keep it all to myself!

Zermatt has an 11. What a beautiful place. Amazing views and great trails. Easy but expensive lift tickets. One day or riding is not enough.

Zermatt is a wonderful place for ski tourism. Very user friendly to non-German speakers, great food, absolutely perfect skiing conditions. Great rental ski shop!!

Zermatt is a great place to stay and ski. The ski field is the highest in Europe so you are pretty much guaranteed skiable snow. The lift infrastructure on the ski field is excellent with gondolas, cable cars, chairlifts therefore queues move fairly quickly. Pre booking you ski equipment ski pass is helpful. It is better to buy just the local ski area pass and extend your pass to include the Italian side on an as need basis. Access to skiing in Italy is weather dependent and if the lift is operating.

Its Zermatt!!! It's amazing. It's beautiful. It's expensive as heck... but that's ok. Actually, the bike rental was one of the most reasonably priced activities there!

Beautifull place with benefit of no vehicles other than e taxi services . Expanding the number of MTB flow trails around the Matterhorn area . It’s expensive but only reflects the quality and costs associated with quality mountain area construction

Characterful village with efficient lift service and interconnecting ski bus. Great skiing, extensive domain and excellent mountain restaurants at Findeln.

Etwas problematisch: Am Montag wegen Schneefall Lawinensprengungen dem ganzen Morgen. Warum der Lift, oben nach dem Matterhorn - Express als Entlastung nicht laufen konnte, war ein Rätsel!?

Der Skibus von der Kirch Brücke Richtung Matterhorn Express war meistens übervoll.

Uns gefällt das multikulturelle und die lockere Atmosphäre im ganzen Dorf.

Der Bus hält - obwohl die Coronamassnahmen (galt bei der Einführung als Begründung) längst vorbei sind, immer noch unter der Brücke und nicht mehr an der immer noch am Boden gekennzeichneten Bushaltestelle vor der Sunneggabahn. Sieht fast wie eine versteckte Subventionierung der dort stationierten Taxis aus Auf dem Trottoir vor der Kirchbrücke (Hotels Matterhornblick bis Beau Rivage) stehen immer zwei bis drei Elektrofahrzeuge der Hotels und/oder Taxis, so dass teilweise auf die Strasse ausgewichen werden muss. Wenn diese auf dem Trottoir parkiert werden, sollten sie absolut an der Strasse (linke Räder auf der Trottoirkante) platziert werden, so dass der Weg auf der sicheren Seite gegen die Hotels für Fussgänger frei bleibt Die Bahnen liefen in der vergangenen Woche häufig nicht. Es wäre hilfreich, wenn uns Touristen und auch den anderen Interessierten (Bahnangestellten, Restaurantbetreibern, Hotelliers etc.) beispielsweise über die App plausibel, also auch für Normalos verständlich erklärt würde, WARUM. Dann hielte sich nämlich auch die Enttäuschung in Grenzen und der Gedanke an gezielte Einsparungsmassnahmen (Strom, Personal, Material) oder gar Faulheit käme gar nicht erst auf. Ihre Ticketpreise sind dynamisch. Aber leider nur nach oben. Der Preis für ein 13-Tagesticket liegt dynamisch sehr hoch, eine günstigere Buchung im Herbst ist nicht mehr möglich. Am Anreisetag war er dann plötzlich noch höher als am Vortag. Verstehen Sie das unter dynamic Pricing? Ich habe dafür eine ganz andere, nicht sehr freundliche Bezeichnung Wäre toll, wenn diese Punkte an die richtige Stelle (Leitung Tourismusbüro, Direktion Bergbahnen) weitergeleitet würden und ich eine Stellungnahme erhielte. Ich war das erste Mal in Zermatt und von der Anreise (kompliziert) und der Größe des Orts überrascht. Wenn man sich aber etwas mit diesem Ort beschäftigt ist es klar, was einen erwartet. Zermatt ist autofrei und die Anreise ist etwas umständlich. In Zermatt geht alles sehr gut zu erreichen. entweder per Fuß (wenn man etwas Zeit hat) mit der roten oder grünen Buslinie oder zur Not auch mit dem Taxi. Die Bergwelt in Zermatt verzaubert und über allem thront majestätisch das Matterhorn. Traumhaft schön, ein andere Welt!

Ski Busse müssten mehr mit der Anzahl Fahrgäste abgestimmt werden. Waren teilweise übervoll.

Ich bin begeistert von der Gastfreundschaft in den Hotels, Restaurants, Geschäften und Bergbahnen. Familiäre Atmosphäre.

Bin seit 20 Jahren in Zermatt zum Skifahren und werde in Zukunft wieder kommen.

Zermatt ist halt einfach Zermatt.

Natürlich ein Touristenort welcher auch mit den Touristen Geld verdient, jedoch auf eine sehr angenehme Art. Landschaftlich ein absolutes Muss auch wenn man bereits in den Bergen wohnt.

zermatt ist ein must-seen place in der schweiz. sei es nun zum skifahren, klettern, wandern oder mtb.

Eindrückliche, wunderbare Bergwelt, perfekt präparierte Pisten auch bei Schneemangel. Freundliches Bahnpersonal. Leider sehr städtisches Ambiente im DORF Zermatt.

Zermatt hat für jeden viel zu bieten. Wellness, Bergsport, Wintersport und auch kulinarisch sehr vielseitig. Toll ist auch das man erstklassig und Luxus haben kann aber nicht muss, denn es hat auch Angebote in anderen Preissegmente. Zermatt ist sowohl für Sportler als auch Geniesser. Wir kommen zu jede Jahreszeit sehr gerne. Sobald man durch die enge Zufahrt kommt und das Tal zum Matterhorn aufmacht, erfühlt es mir immer mit ein überwältigender Freude wieder „da“ zu sein.

Zermatt ist in wenigen Worten schwer zu beschreiben. Mann muss es erleben! Einer der schönsten Skiorte der Welt.

Etwas schade fanden wir, dass trotz bestem Wetter schon alle Berghütten geschlossen hatten. Wahrscheinlich ist es in 8 von 10 Jahren richtig und notwendig, für uns war es jedoch schade.

Schöner Skiort.

Zermatt ist wunderschön; wir waren jedoch sehr enttäuscht, dass nur so wenige Pisten geöffnet hatten. Zudem war nicht eine einzige Talabfahrt offen, was zu grossem Gedränge bei der Suneggabahn führte. Nicht gerade ein gutes Beispiel in Coronazeiten!! Das lässt bei einem so bekannten Skiort sehr zu wünschen übrig.

Wie könnte man Zermatt nicht lieben... bester alpiner Fremdenverkehrsort der Schweiz
