Bormio is beautiful and has a lovely medieval charm. I came to ride the Stelvio Gravel path and to explore val mustair. It was awesome. Unfortunately I underestimated the popularity of the stelvio to car and motorbike enthusiasts. The constant noise and petrol fumes maybe a surprise to some people - it was for me !

Bormio is a great launching place for all levels of bike riding! You can ride directly out of town or drive a short distance to many scenic rides. We enjoyed doing the Mortirolo out of the near by town, Grosio, as it was very scenic and had little traffic with shoulders for bikes. We also did the Gavia directly from town on e-bikes.
