A beautiful location. Lovely hotel. Great access to the surrounding mountains and cross-border regions. Cycle maps may have been useful, although I may have missed picking one up? We'd love to come again, in winter as well as summer. Stunning and welcoming. Fantastic for bikers, skiers, rock climbers, hikers, via ferrata and many other lovers of outdoor pursuits.

The route from Tarvisio to Venzone is beautiful and most of the time down. But pedalling is still required. Italian food is amazing to stop one of the restaurants along the way. Better to have a headlamp in the many tunnels. But bicycles lamps are good enough if you have any.

Tarviso is an excellent destination for all types of activities in the mountains during the summer. There are, literally speaking, dozens of km of perfectly prepared paved bike lanes as well as lanes in the forests and mountains. You can choose the type of trip to reflect your need and fitness level. The ski lifts are open giving you an opportunity to start your hike or bike experience on the top of the mountain.

Because of Covid, we didn’t go out to restaurants. Probably because of Covid, the city was empty at night. People are kind. We were especially impressed by the owner of the Rossi store because he helped us with the internet, which we did not have in the apartment
