Lovely for cycling and walking

Cycling heaven for climbers and a beautiful village full of historic character with cobbled streets. Some of the great mountain passes to ride are closeby. In a week when we had one day off the bike we managed to ride 1. Mortirolo from Tirano (toughest) 2. Gavia from Santa Catarina (Road cleared but not open waiting for inspection - cafe at the top open) 3. Stelvio both sides (had to be done) 4. Cancano (most picturesque) 5. Bormio 2,000 (kinda Zwift training) 6. Foscagno (rain dominated on the day) Make sure you visit Bormio as it's also a place for the non-cyclist.

Bormio is beautiful and perfect for cycling the classic climbs in the area. We had several non cyclists in our group but plenty for them to do as well. I can definitely recommend the spas in the area and the train ride to St Moritz. This was my second visit and I would love to come again Thank you!

Bormio is absolutely stunning and great for cycling, especially if climbing mountains is appealing.

Bormio is a beautiful place to cycle and I will be back. Only issue I found was that restaurants and grocery stores were closed at random times. So plan your meals in advance

We had friends accommodations. It is a spectacular mountain village. The surrounding topography is off the charts. Hiking and cycling fantastic. Let’s remember a food and drink. The overall ambience and hopefulness of the community was wonderful. Throw in Thursday’s Giro d’ Italia stg 17 and you’ve got a real winner. Huge recommendation to friends.

Beautiful village and great vibes. Hopefully i get to return one day. Its’s a long way from Australia, but so worth it for the stunning views. We hiked and we cycled. Both of us thought it was stunning location

Friendly small town with everything you need

It's a great little town overall with a nice atmsophere

Excellent slopes, small but intimate domain, normally not too crowded, excellent food on the slopes. We love Bormio.

we loved the experience

Lovely village with a great range of shops, bars and restaurants.

Mountains : Magnificent/ Spectacular Bormio Village : Warm / Welcoming / Historic

Bormio is an excellent base to ride all the famous climbs. Will love to come back again.

Bormio is a cycling Mecca. I did the Stelvio in the full day I was there and would recommend at least two full days to get another epic ride in, but Passo Stelvio was definitely worth the work. Just be prepared for the weather if going in late Sept like we did. It was COLD at the top and my gloves were not sufficient for the descent.

The whole family loved Bormio. Stunningly beautiful. Good accommodations and food. Lots of hiking as well as cycling and skiing. And the town is great to stroll through and admire the older buildings. I would highly recommend Bormio as a destination

Beautiful place, plenty of choice for food and coffee. Fantastic riding.

Bormio is a good base for cycling (and other sports) in the Dolomites. The town has lots to offer.

Needed more time to explore but loved the old town with the shops, restaurants and laneways

Beautiful town with classic Giro d’Italia mountain climbs nearby

A beautiful destination with spectacular scenery. Lots of rides to choose from but they are challenging - you are either climbing or descending.

Perfect to access some of the classic (and hidden) gems for road cyclists

Bormio is an awesome ctlycling experience, well worth the journey, with every amenity imaginable available to tourists, at reasonable cost and top quality.

Un paraíso para ciclistas.

Bormio is the perfect place to ride with so many options an so much cycling history.

Service was mixed, good in some places but others made us feel very unwelcomed. Good base for cycling though and a wide range of bike shops.

Too much traffic in the center of the City.

very good experience, highly recommend. Be careful for thunderstorms!

Great town with fantastic scenery and a range of activities. Good restaurants. A lot of places close between around 1-3pm so plan ahead :)

great for bikes trip. perfect weather and hospitality

A stunning area to be on a bike for 3 days, next time I'll be sure to stay for longer. Perfection.

The climbs for cyclist are of couse legendary. Hikes wre nice too - and the app for the hikes was excellent! The town is clean, pretty and not too much tourists in July :)

Bormio is an amazing place with stunning beauty & as a cyclist perfectly located to experience all the iconic climbs

Came for a cycling break with a friend and Bormio has everything we required. Great restaurants local with no need to drive, great cycling, great accommodation. Second visit and am already planning to return next year.

Bormio is amazing and beautiful. We cycled 3 days - Passo Stelvio, Passo Gavia and Passo Stelvio again. Beautiful views and lovely people.

A beautiful place

I’ve cycled from several towns in the Alps and the Pyrenees. In Bormio it was easy to rent a bike and very affordable compared to my experience in other locations. Bikes in Bormio are good quality there is a large stock and range; and they are readily available for rental. There are lots of cycling routes of all grades and in all directions.

Bormio was brilliant and a great place to go as a cyclist for a week. The accommodation was just up on of the hills with an amazing view of the town and everyone we spoke to was really helpful and welcoming. Can't wait to come back.

Bormio is a great town,

Bormio is beautiful, and for cyclists it is heaven.

Great for cycling!

Lovely town with amazing cycling AND walking

Loved the food, local shops, the streetscape. The Sentiero Valtellina, going from Bormio to Colico some 120km away is the best bike lane I have seen anywhere. This will be a fantastic venue for the alpine events of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Bormio is a great destination for cyclists with some of the most iconic mountain ascents (Mortirolo, Gavia, Stelvio, etc…). It has fantastic restaurants for all your dining needs.

Bormio is gorgeous, great food, spas and views with access to the greatest climbs available.

Perfecto!

Beautiful Bormio. A great location for cycling as access to iconic climbs and a lovely centre. Plenty of places to stay, eat and drink. Definitely would like to return.

A really nice setting and good, relaxed atmosphere with plentiful choice of places to eat and drink. Perfect base for the classic cycling routes of Stelvio, Gavia & Mortirolo

Passo Stelvio, Passo Gavia and Bormio city...

Bormio is a beautiful place to spend time cycling, eating, and discovering the local culture and history. The people are friendly. There are lots of other roads to cycle as well as the iconic passes.

Great smaller town with all you need and great italian food at reasonable prices. Amazing destination for mountain lovers and paradise for bikers.

this town has to be on the bucket list of every serious cyclist!

Excellent location with lots of options for outdoor activities

The bike rental has easy access to the Stelvio situated on the main road. Turn left out of the shop and you start your ascent it really is the perfect place for picking up and dropping off your bike rental. Bormio is a great destination with great restaurant's and cafes. Also try and visit one of the Spas. I can highly recommend the one below. https://www.qcterme.com/en/bormio/qc-terme-bagni-vecchi

Amazing back again soon

Bormio is a beautiful town. Great for bike riding and the golf course was beautiful.

Perfect location when nice weather..

Bormio was beautiful but the weather was still on the colder side. We'll come back later in the season to hopefully get the weather and the experience

Stelvio was closed in May (while the Giro was rerouted) and there was very little open. We'll be back next year but probably best to go in June.

Cosy city with rich architecture for its size, and surprisingly sleepy for this season of the year.

Fantastic place nice place

Bormio is a bike riders paradise.

I really enjoyed it being the “low” season. It felt like we had the mountains to ourselves!

Bormio is a great little town to visit. Friendly people and very easy to get around and explore.

See above

Lovely town, welcoming and friendly people

Very cute town with a nice high street and quite a few nice pubs and restaurants. Was hoping there would be snow in town but you had to ride the gondola up to get to the snow.

Bormio is a wonderful ski resort. Great ski area, very well maintained andwide runs. The town is beautiful with lots to see and do. Nice restaurants, lovely swimming pool and spa., something for everyone.

A town with a friendly vibe, excellent skiing and great food. And a really cool old spa! Advice: go there!

Love Bormio, been three times now. Great with children, food is amazing, beautiful town and reasonable priced wherever you go.

Central location and easy to get to all the climbs.

Bormio is an amazing place!!!

Lovely mountain town

Clean, can be a bit busy with traffic passing, but no trouble in general.

Beautiful and charming destination on the Italian Alps! The Passo Dello Stelvio is a must-do climb for every serious cyclist!

Clean, a lot of opportunities to do,

Good tourist town with enough of everything to go around. Autumn visit time.

Bormio is a very clean city which has carefully looked after its heritage. The amenities are good and the people in retail business are friendly and very helpful.

The town and people were very courteous and friendly

Plenty of cycling options.

Bormio it's a very friendly little town where everything and everyone it's related with sports, bike, ski and more. Beautiful town, very clean and precious. Definitely recommended.

Just the perfect location for riding the iconic Italian Alps and a great little town with lots of character and plenty of high quality eating and drinking options.

Great atmosphere with plenty of variety. A terrific base for the road riding we had planned. On ‘rest’ days there was always something different to experience.

Bormio is a beautiful town and is perfectly set up for cycling.

Visiting in the Summer, we were very impressed with the place. A lot to see and do > we spent a half a day here and could have easily spent more time. There were plenty of Dining Options in this place.

The cycling is world-class. The restaurants were excellent. Bormio is very easy to walk around, and the old town is charming.

Enjoyed Bormio when we got to know it better, some good walking and excellent cycling opportunities, the closed to motor vehicles days are a winner and I think we will try and catch one of these on next visit and try and ride Bormio 360. Is there an easier way to get to Bormio : ) after dribving the Gavia and Motorilo .

Very nice area, plenty of choice for eating out.

Best destination for road bike adventures

If you like bike, mountains and calm atmosphere, Bormio will become your paradise!

I was there just for rent, staying in Livigno, but last day I used Bormio as my basement for ride to Stelvio :-)

Bormio was the highlight of a month cycling in Italy (19 days riding in total, ~1,200km and ~10,000m elevation). We only had 3 days and rode from Bormio to Cancano reservoir, Passo di Gavia and Stelvio pass - all were wonderful rides with great scenery and really good road surfaces. The Bormio restaurants we visited were top quality, San Lorenzo hotel staff keen to ensure we had a great stay, QC Terme Bagni Vecchi spa simply amazing (recommend allow at least 4 hours for that) and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. Next time I go to Bormio, I’d plan to stay 7-10 days, to explore the many more rides and other fun things to do.

Have skied in Bormio wanted to come back in the summer. Town and surrounding mountains were stunning

Lovely clean and friendly staff

Fantastic!

Great centre, great restaurants and shopping.

The Stelvio ride was awsome, and the professional bicycle is improved the experience.

Bormio is a unique mountain town with a nice combination of old and new buildings. The people and services here are aiming for perfection.

Bormio is very beautiful but crowded in July. The Stelvio Pass was an adventure, great to be able to climb it by bike.

This is simply paradise on earth for bikers.

We enjoyed every aspect of Bormio! The scenery is first and everything else is a close second. I would recommend everyone going and staying their entire visit in Bormio…

Have visited Bormio twice and love the town. Will definitely be back

Fabulous destination for all things outdoors.

Excellent location for tough but beautiful cycling

It's was a fantastic location. We camped in our van. It was such a lovely place to just site and recharge

Road cyclists paradise

Nice town.

Excellent location for the very best of hiking, cycling and mountain biking--and the hot springs are everywhere to be found. Also, very good restaurants and stores.

Very pleasant resort

I stayed at Baida dei Pini and had a great time road cycling. Motirolo, Gavia, Stelvio and Lago di Cancano were highlights of the trip. Beautiful area!

What's not to like about Bormio? Gorgeous place, great food, friendly people, and a bike-crazy place!

Awesome riding. It is a pity that the cars and motor bike cannot be kept off the roads for a couple of hours each day. They do not obey the roads rules of Italy and make too much noise pollution. The local police could easily implement limited roads use.

Un destino privilegiado para disfrutar de unos muy buenos días de ciclismo.

Bormio is an easy place to visit and enjoy for a hiking and biking holiday.

Great base to stay for exploring the alps and some of the classic alpine passes. Bormio offers great places to stay and eat.

Bormio was a great place for a bike ride with numerous options in every direction. Bormio old town was a beautiful place for post ride dinner and stroll.

Bormio is a beautiful and small place that has hotels and shops with nice people and fantastic service. I had a great time there and will definitely visit the place again.

Peaceful quiet very pleasant place. Very good restaurants and food. Everything is close by walking, and the most important is you have plenty of routes go biking just outside town.

Nice town, a little busy with cars and motorcycles, also on the various climbs that are frequented by cyclists.

Bormio is a nice Village but it’s very difficult to reach, and it has no parking compared to the tourist mass.

Beautiful town, plenty of bars and restaurants. Superb cycling , both road and mountain bikes. Hiking and an excellent atmosphere generally.

We loved Bormio and really hope to return one day! The views are spectacular and the food was amazing! Everyone we interacted with in shops, cafes, bike shops were friendly and helpful. It is worth remembering that shops close in the afternoon until 1500-1600! If you love bikes and everything about cycling, you will love Bormio! Surrounded by bikes 24/7! We loved the experience and felt safe cycling and running on the roads!

Bormio is our favorite place we have seen in a long Alps road trip through Switzerland, France, and Italy.

So many great climbs around Bormio and easy to hire a driver to bring you and your bike to any destination

Stunning. Only one word required

Great destination.

Mekka of biking

Bormio is now rated as the best in the region Amazing places and great restaurants A cyclist Mecca and roads are in excellent condition

We came to Bormio so I could ride the Stelvio Pass. My two sisters knew nothing about the town but wanted me to have the experience because it had been a dream of mine for a mini years. When we were going to our next destination, Lake Como they told me how much they enjoyed the town of Bormio and what a hidden gem in the Italian alps it is.

I really liked this place it has the small town feel. The people are friendly and prices are reasonable. About my only complaints are that it is aways from Milan and all the bike rides go straight up unless you go down the river trail.

Beautiful old style town, very clean and very friendly people.

Amazing all around cycling, hiking, spa or just enjoying food and wine.

Bormio and the valley is stunning, speak to local people and gain their knowledge, youbwont regret it. If you cant see what you want when booking, you must call the store, they will probably have a solution.

We loved the Bormio town and found it easy to get around and enjoy the local sights. We discovered that you definitely need a booking to eat out on Saturday night but that is not a surprise.

Loved the friendliness of the people and the great destinations and views... So beautiful miss it already.

Amazing bike town! Riding obviously is incredible, but the hotel and town were so supportive of bikers

Great shop, nice staff

Much more suited to intermediate skiers. Very few slopes accessable for beginners as the majority of our party was. Lots of reds, few reds into blue and nursery slope got v busy at times. Ninja and Davide were fantastic for the beginners in the group.

Charming but limited skiing and VERY few snow cannons. With snow becoming so unreliable, the resort needs to invest.

Bormio suits both the skier and non skier. Skiing is good for beginner and intermediate. Bubble to 2000 and Cable car to 3000 accessible on foot. Good range of slopes. Town is pretty with a selection of (expensive) shops, cafès and local produce. Nice to wander the streets and look in the churches.

Great!!

A plethora of other cyclists and a very strong positive vibe made Bormio feel very bicycle-friendly. Lots of things to see and do in a stunningly beautiful settings. Lots of paved paths for those who do not wish to ride on the street, too.

Un lugar espectacular

Great resort

Fantastic place. Love it!

Great experience overall! Will come again and recommend it to you!

Beautiful town, clean and buzzing. We went there to cycle and could not have asked for a better destination . Lots to do, plenty of bars and restaurants. Nice shops and stunning scenery

Playground for pain, absolutely loved it. Some of the best cycling in the world.

.

Perfecto para salida y llegada de rutas ciclistas, en 3 días hicimos las dos caras de Stelvio, Mortirolo, Gavia, Foscagno y Cancano en algo más de 300kms. Es un pueblo con ambiente y buenos sitios para comer

More road e-bike options would be nice, there is so much to see and do in the Bormio area that an e-bike option would be great even for experienced cyclist so you can see more of the famous climbs in the time you're there.

The best base to explore the region, cycling heaven.

Bormio is a wonderful little rustic ski town. There is plenty to see and do. We always visit for skiing in the winter. It is a perfect location to learn to ski or to progress your skills.

Cute little town with excellent cycling routes. Passed a few pro teams training (of course they were going in an opposite direction). The Italian alps are spectacular.

The cyclists Mecca.

Lovely town, food, wine and of course mountains to climb.

Good place to explire the surrounding

The best place in the world to ride a bike.

biking heaven

Very clean and tidy

Beautiful place, lots of restaurants and bars, good buzz to the place.

What a place. Best cycling place in the world.

Molto buono, bella città

Just a brilliant place to ride your bike.

Incredible place with amazing outdoor facilities. We’re definitely coming back!

Bormio is a cycling dream location!

Borneo has everything you need. Really friendly locals.

I love the location and bike friendly environment

Bormio is a beautiful town, with lots of historic buildings. A little quiet off season and many of the restaurants may be closed.

Excellent though challenging cycling. Granfondo Stelvio Santini is a very well organised event and great to do. Plenty of local restaurants and bars to enjoy before and after!

A paradise for cyclists looking for climbs Weather views and all the nature that Dolomites can offer. Second time I'm staying in Bormio, and I'll probably be back again.

I'd like to see more bike Tour options

Beautiful place, beautiful people, beautiful cycling equipment

Very picturesque location, but a considerable number of ski lifts were mostly closed due to "strong wind", and some of the slopes were closed due to ski competitions.

Unknown

Bormio is a great central location to stay with access to multiple terrific cycling routes. The town centre is also very nice to explore and wander around.

Bormio is a lovely town and the perfect location for road cycling. Lots of nice shops and restaurants.

Bormio was perfect for cycling - a lot of great climbs are easily accessible with a nice city to spend time in in between.

Great bike holiday

Perfect location

2nd visit in Year , came for road cycling

Superb for riding!
Lugar maravilhoso para andar de bicicleta, super duro mas com subidas e paisagens maravilhosas, um pouco caro para um português... A capital do Passo do Stelvio
