Sestriere is a lovely resort for intermediate and advanced skiers, slopes utoo sreep for beginners.

We were here for the 2025 Special Olympics World Games. The town is beautiful and welcoming. There were not enough public toilet facilities to accommodate the amount of people. The facilities inside the on slope bars and cafes were inadequate and dirty.

Didn't visit it

very good for intermediate skiers. Lift queues should be more actively managed by the attendants - very frustrating when there is eg a queue that one person goes up in on a six person seat

A good resort - great links into nearby resorts (though we took a coach rather than lifts to get to Montgenevre so we'd have more time there).

Great restaurants, decent size ski area. The ski lifts would benefit from investment and the pistes could have been better groomed (we noticed that the quality of the lifts and skiing in Montgenevre was very much better).

I thought the ski resort was good, although very busy and chaotic on the weekends. It was very friendly to tourists and easy to navigate. Could be improved with more facilities e.g. public toilets.

Great skiing location and good variety of shops and restaurants

I have been coming to Sestriere for over 20 years and have always had the best experience.

We absolutely loved The area and will 100% be returning.

Great for ease of access onto the slopes and into the wider 400km ski area.

Lovely ski area but the lifts are in desperate need of an update. Most are old and slow and none have no covers, which makes for very cold skiing.

Very quiet town, ski lifts start late and close early (9-4), no shops, poor restaurants quality.

Sestriere is a lovely resort with plenty of good red runs. However, the main Sestriere to Sauze d’Oux gondola lift can be shut due to high winds the other side, which does cut off your route to the rest of the ski region.

Great location, difficult and challenging runs across a large area

Just make sure the links are open for your stay before you book your lift pass. During our stay none of the links were open to other ski areas so we paid for a full via lattea pass when just sestriere pass would have done.

Beautiful, first time in Sestriere and hopefully not the last. Slopes were great, enjoyed some sun and the locals were so friendly!

We love the relaxed atmosphere in Sestriere and the excellent ski facilities

Pistes were all well maintained but signage/names & numbers not always clear however we soon got used to the layout. Mountain restaurants were excellent and surprisingly good value. There were a few chair lifts only open on a Sunday which seems a bit mean as we've bought a ski pass for the whole area. Link to Sauze d'Oulx was closed due to wind on 4 out of 7 days but could easily have been opened for half a day.

Fantastic

Much busy. But very nice place.

Nice varied resort, too busy at the weekend though

Very busy and too many ski schools

Sestriere was a lively resort . It was one of the busier weeks of the year that we went but still managed to find parking. (Provided you arrive early enough) Good variety of pistes and links to other ski resorts.

There are excellent, primarily wide slopes, few people in even week 7, but expensive foods in the mountains. Lifts could be newer and faster. It is great being able to go to many other valleys.

I think there is a lot to be improved. It feels like the entire Via Lattea is stuck in the past, proud to have hosted an Olympic Games that happened almost 20 years ago. The entire resort got complacent. It is sad, quite frankly. All the people who work there, including you, should take a trip to Vail, Aspen or Winter Park in Colorado and see how much you need to improve. The pistes have very little signs in quantity and the size of the signs are small, when you can find one. So you find yourself many times not knowing where you are going in piste forks/instersections. The colors of pistes are not indicative of the level of the piste. There are dozens of red pistes and some reds can be much harder than others reds. Also, many pistes had almost zero snow, just ice or not even. You could actually see the stones the dirt or grass in some parts of some pistes. It is extremelly dangerous to ski in these conditions. These pistes should be CLOSED. Also, there was not enough ski workers from Via Lattea patrolling the pistes, which is very dangerous in case a tourist or anyone gets into an accident and there is no one to rescue them. The Via Lattea map has symbols that have no legend. That just shows how your resort got complacente. That is a rookie mistake. You can do better than this. This is a basic thing. If you want to stay in business and stay relevant, get your Via Lattea map right. Make it easy for people who have never seen it to be able to read it easily. Queuing could be improved. You could make individual queues, like in the USA. The infrasctructure in Sestriere was ok. Almost all restaurants were extremely expensive, except for Adam’s Kebab, which was almost always full of people. It is obvious why. They offered a lot of food for a fair price, even though they treat their customers in a very, very rude way. But they can do that, because they have no competition.

Great ski area

Helpful peple awryware we go

Lots of ski area when fully open. Only downside was closing of a couple of major lifts even when there was good snow coverage. I can only assume there was a lock of staff to run them. Lifts were opened at the weekend when there were more skiers but closed again later in the week. I wonder if this was a economical decision or a staff problem. Luckily we were usually able to go over to Souzi Doux when the gondola was open. When it is fully open it is great. Sestriere seems a little limited in the number of restaurants and bars available, even though it was quite quiet when we were there.

Quiet town, so I would recommend for Skiing only. Sauze d'oulx is a nice area to visit for a day or two.

Good intermediate skiing , shame about a lot of runs being closed despite snow on them

I think great for a short stay , I was hoping for a bit more apres ski fun .

The liftssystems in the city Are bad connected And the skibus should be free of charge.

If all the lifts are open then Sestriere is a great place to ski but due to the low snowfall in December only half the lifts were open so there were a lot of waiting in queues. The link over to Sauze D'Oulx works well but coming back is very slow. There doesn't seem to be enough capacity in the restaurants during the holiday periods so recommend booking in advance if you're eating out.

Great skiing and a friendly town. They kept a few slopes open as there was no snow fall when we were there.

Sestriere is located at 2000 m so there's no problem with snow even in the springtime. It's a quiet place very conveniently located close to the pistes. The pistes are wide and nice. Not so much of a party place which makes it even better.

Sestriere is an OK destination. The snow and slopes in France were better.

no public buses, no grocery stores expect for the town centre, no taxis, limited number of restaurants, no spa

Great place, better supermarket would be better! Awesome food and wine, Bombardino is brilliant

Nice, friendly town. Good variety of slopes. Only real complaint is the slow and unreliable lifts - too often not working, so had to catch very infrequent bus from sauze d'oulx back to sestriere - which took 2 hours in total.

Sestriere itself is great My companit would be that we booked an Airbnb and it turned out to be through an agency (Hotdomus) - their service and communication is CRAP. And to top it off they charged us a deposit they werent supposed to...

All shops shut around 7pm

An overall brilliant ski destination

Great place for novice & intermediate skiers to progress and the resort is good value and family friendly.

Really good facilities for adults and kids. Great skiing and wondeful ski schools. Highly recommended

Lift between Borgata and Sestriere closes too early . Allowing use of it during the evening for foot traffic only would improve transport between areas

Sestriere is a very comfortable and cozy place. The great advantage is that you don't have to take bus or walk long to reach the slopes. Probably we were lucky but there were no crowds on the slopes and we never had to wait in a line. At first we were not that much impressed with the local restaurants but then we found several wonderful places and bars where you can really enjoy yourself. We'll be coming back.

Sestriere is a great ski resort if you have good enough snow conditions and all the lifts are open. Be warned most of the lifts close at 4:00pm sharp and the lift staff couldn’t care less if you are stuck and can’t get back over to Sestriere. As for the French Montgenevre street included within the all areas lift pass. It’s definitely worth visiting but only by car as taking the lifts doesn’t give you enough time due to the unreasonable early closing and poor attitude of the lift staff. Especially considering the cost of the lift pass.

Decent pistes, slow lifts with dissapointingly few open. Good food, but relatively quiet apres.

We enjoy staying at sestriere as a couple. However if you are looking for entertainment or nightlife in the afternoon it does not offer much.

Was a very Italian atmosphere geared more towards locals than tourists. Beautiful location with some good skiing routes however was a little bit icy in parts due to lack of snow this year

Lift system was very dated and in need of upgrade. We had to queue for long periods

Love it. Return year after year. Snow sure.

We love Sestriere it is such a shame the snow was not great

Charming Italian resort, limited variety of runs, few blacks and lack of snow for the first 2 days of our 3 day stay meant navigating between the main ski areas required getting the bubble "down" the mountain, never a good thing. Good selection of fairly priced restaurants, bars and cafes with friendly staff everywhere,
We really enjoyed our week in Sestriere. With 400 km of piste we never bored and we found the prices charged for lunch up the mountain very reasonable.
